This film takes us to two cotton farming families in Awat County, southern Xinjiang, China. During the cotton-picking season, they encounter various accidents, such as lack of manpower, injuries, and constant rain. However, with the concerted efforts of the family members, both families finally sell out all the cotton before the price falls below 10 yuan. The film uses local folk songs and music throughout, full of exotic audio-visual language, not only tells a tortuous story of cotton picking, but also shows the real life texture and simple life philosophy of cotton farmers like an idyll.
